Clovice Lewis' Personal Notes - April 15, 1991 (1:00 PM)
I was to have a meeting with Andy Trice regarding the ongoing documentation requirements of the NOAVA Usage Manual that TME is working on for LISC at 1:00 p.m. On the way into the building I chanced to meet Claire Donovan and Tim Collins (another LISC employee) at the front entrance. Claire immediately said "Clovice, you're going to kill me. We need to come in to talk!".
We went to her office and she told me that she had attempted to call me earlier, before I came in to the office. She then said that she had sent me the wrong letter on March 27 - one which did not list the Uniplex tutorials. She did not discover this until Dave Etter sent her a message by E-Mail that the "wrong" letter had also been sent to one of the three companies they had contacted. She asked me if I had received any of the other ROMs that had been sent in the previous months. I replied that we had not, and that the last documentation we had prior to the March 27 letter was our February 5, 1991 Statement of Work.
I told Claire I had noticed that two Uniplex tutorials were missing and pointed out that I knew this because they were on the list of Attachment A of our February 5, 1991 Statement of Work with LISC, which I then showed her. I also pointed out to Claire the place where I noted the problem in our reply letter, which I then gave to her (See Attachment: April 15, 1991 ROM Response Letter). She told me that she had different versions of the March 27 letter to send out and had gotten everything mixed up. She gave me what she said was the correct version of the ROM and apologized.
Claire then told me that work on the Invoice for $20,000 which I submitted on March 28 was being delayed pending Bud Brasier's need to submit a Materials Request to justify the payment. She said she didn't know when that would be, but that Bud would be back in town on Friday, April 19. I noticed that a copy of our June 17, 1990 proposal was in the bottom tray of Claire's three-tray In-Basket.
When I got home from Lockheed I found a recorded message to my answering machine from Claire. The following is a transcript of that message, which was left at approximately 12:30 p.m. (duration- 52 seconds):

"Hi Clovice, this is Claire at LISC. I'm calling regarding the wrong quote that I sent to you on the 27 of March for you to quote ... it was actually a revised Statement of Work. I need to touch base 'cause made some errors when I sent out the ROMs to all three of the people that I sent them out to. And I just want to make sure that you're not quoting off the wrong letter. Dave Etter may have given you a copy of his Statement of Work; in that case, you're probably quoting off the right one. Anyways, I need to clear this up. I'm sorry if it's caused any inconvenience. Give me a call back. I'm on (408) 987-4683. Thanks Clovice. Bye bye."
